Our 5 Cs of Service
The experienced dentists of Visiting Dental Associates, P.C. travel with state-of- the-art portable equipment and can transform any space into a fully functioning dental office. Our portable dental unit (about the size of a large suitcase) features a high and low speed drill, high and low velocity evacuation system, air/water syringe, a self contained compressor and bottled water. In addition, there is a hand-held x-ray unit as well as halogen lighted mirrors. Various sterilized instruments and dental materials are also brought into the home determined by the type of treatment being rendered. Our office uses specialized computer software developed solely for our mobile dental service.

Standardized precautions are utilized for all patients to minimize cross- contamination. The dentists use disposable gloves for each patient. When performing procedures which might cause blood or saliva splatter, the dentist also wears a high filtration mask and protective eyewear. Needles or any additional sharps are disposed of in a sharps disposal. Instruments utilized to perform dentistry will be pre-sterilized and packaged at the office of Visiting Dental Associates, P.C. After usage, the instruments are collected by the dentist, rinsed, wrapped, and stored in a puncture resistant storage container for the transport to the office. These instruments are kept separate from all non-used items. At the office of Visiting Dental Associates, the instruments are the instruments are sterilized with ultrasonic cleaning, cold sterilization (holding solution) until instruments are ready for heat sterilization in a steam autoclave with weekly monitoring to guarantee that all germs have been killed and then packaged for future use. Setups are opened in front of our patients when treatment is performed.
